My friend, flowylime, seemed a little upset with my last post about the Obama inauguration. So let me try and explain my self further to clear up any confusion. First off, there is something wrong with "hope" and "change." Hope doesn't solve problems. Hope doesn't turn around an economy. Hope doesn't win wars (if that's even the goal anymore.) I think Sen. Hillary Clinton said it best during the primaries: "Making change is not about what you believe, it's not about a speech you make, it's about working hard."The problem I have with Obama is that he's all personality, and no substance. Hopefully that changes now that he's in office. There are millions of people who think their lives will be radically different now that the nation calls Barack Obama, Mr. President. I for one don't believe government is the answer to our problems right now. Time will tell what policies President Obama will move ahead on, until then I'll guess people will have to pay their bills with a little "hope" and "change."
Second, flowylime gave me a little crap for my question about how weird it was for BOTH men to flub on the oath. I mentioned both men in my initial blog, and I wasn't saying anything bad about either man. I just had never seen the oath not go as planned...that's all.
Third, I didn't hear Rick Warren's prayer. I am no fan of his theology so I really pay no attention to him. As for Rev. Lowry, I only mentioned him because it sounded like he was praying for a nation that stilled functioned in 1968. I hate the fact that so many in the Civil Rights movement today can't give any credit to the fact that as a nation and as a people we have come very far from the horrible days of segregation.
Finally, I still believe the poet is a waste of time.
Anyway, that's just my little response to my friend flowylime.

On the subject of the new president, I am going to take quote from the musical "The Music Man." At this time, I am retiscent. That's because my mom taught me that if I don't have anything good to say, I should say anything. So for now, I'm going to listen to mommy. This is probably sorrow grapes because my guy didn't win. Hell, he really didn't even run...after he won the ND Republican caucus.
Don't worry Jake, I love you even though you are a crazy conservative pants. :)
"...don't think its all good just 'cause you voted."
