Sunday thoughts

1. It appears the river level has gone down today. That's excellent news, but I'm not jumping for joy right now. Hopefully the levees hold and everybody makes it out okay.

2. I watched golf today on NBC. I love when it's on NBC because Johnny Miller is the greatest golf commentator on TV. He's not afriad to tell you when the pro's screw up and if they make a bad effort, he'll tell you. He also seems to never count anybody out. It gets a little ridicoulous at times. He'll be like, "Well if Phil triple bogeys the 16th, and takes a nine on the 17th, and bogey's the 18th, Rocco Mediate may have a shot at this thing." I exaggerate a little, but not by much. Nonetheless, I like a good round of golf called by Johnny Miller.

3. I watched Last of the Mohicans last night and now cannot get the main theme from the movie out of my head. If you haven't seen the movie, I'd recommend it.

4. Back to golf for a moment, I still believe, despite all the great things Tiger has done, Jack Nicklaus is still the greatest golfer of all time. Take away the new golf ball technology, new club technology, and I garuntee Nicklaus would handle Tiger without breaking a sweat. I admit it, I don't like Tiger Woods. I can't exactly say why, but there is something about him that just irritates me. Speaking of Nicklaus again, if you haven't seen the coverage of him winning the 1986 Masters you have to check it out on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBNAMfXjsaI
